an important role in Russia's grain exports. In 2020, 3.3 million tons of wheat was exported from the region.
Egypt, Turkey, Bangladesh, Iran and China areamong Russia's largest grain export markets.
Russia's Rostov Oblast region is one of the country's largest grain production centers.
Wheat and sunflower constitute about 85% of the production of this region.
The Rostov Oblast region accounted for
about 10% of Russia's grain exports in 2019. At the same time,
the Rostov Oblast region produced more than 10 million tons of grain in 2019.
